Man arrested after disturbance in Eastbourne

There was a significant police presence on Pevensey Road last night

A man has been arrested following reports he was throwing items off of a ledge in Eastbourne.

Sussex Police say say they were called to Pevensey Road at around 7:20pm on Thursday (3 April) where the man was sat on the edge of a second floor property.

A road closure and cordon were put in place as a precaution to protect the public.

A 31- year-old man, from Eastbourne, has been arrested on suspicion of intentionally or recklessly causing a public nuisance, attempting to assault emergency workers and intentionally causing fear or provocation of violence or threatening behaviour.

He remains in police custody.
