Man arrested after 'firearm' incident in Bognor Regis

Police say a 44 year old has been taken into custody

Police have arrested a man in Bognor Regis following allegations he was in possession of a firearm.

Officers received a report of a man with, what was believed to be, a firearm in John Street just before 5pm on Friday (2 April).

IMITATION HANDGUN

The suspect, a 44-year-old local man, was detained by officers after he exited a shop in High Street, Bognor Regis. He was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearms with intent to cause fear or violence and remains in police custody at this time.

No injuries were reported and police recovered an imitation handgun.
