Man arrested for arson in Hove

A man has been arrested after a fire broke out at a bungalow

Police are investigating a fire which broke out at a bungalow in Hove.

Emergency services were called to a fire at a property on Hallyburton Road, Hove at around 8.20pm on Sunday, 7 January.

Crews were called to the scene to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading to neighbouring homes.

A 40 year old local man has been arrested on suspicion of arson.

The fire service confirmed the fire was put out swiftly and caused minor damage to the property.

No injuries were reported.

What have Sussex Police said?

Sussex police have released a statement saying "A 40-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. An investigation is ongoing.

Witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to contact Sussex Police online or call 101 quoting serial 968 of 07/01".
