Man arrested after motorcyclist seriously injured in Crawley hit-and-run

Police believe both vehicles were travelling towards the roundabout on Haslett Avenue East

A motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries following a hit-and-run in Crawley.

The rider was involved in a collision with a van in Haslett Avenue East shortly before 7pm on Thursday, May 4, but the van driver left the scene.

Police believe the vehicles were both travelling from the traffic lights at Stephenson Way before approaching the roundabout.

The 58-year-old motorcyclist has been treated in hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A 21-year-old man from Horsham - arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving – has been questioned and bailed.

Anyone with any information or relevant dashcam footage is asked report it to police online or by email, quoting serial 1258 of 04/05.
