Man arrested after electric motorbike crashes into police dog vehicle in Littlehampton

A police dog helped locate a suspect nearby after the rider fled the scene

A man has been arrested after an electric motorbike was in a collision with a police dog unit vehicle in Littlehampton.

The crash happened in Franciscan Way shortly before 6pm on Sunday, March 26, but the rider fled the scene.

A police dog helped locate a 33-year-old man, of no fixed address, who was arrested on suspicion of several offences, including dangerous driving, drink and drug driving, and failing to stop at a collision.

He was taken to hospital where he remains at this time.

Police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dash-cam footage, to report it online or by calling 101, quoting serial 901 of 26/03.
