Sussex Police have arrested a man after a stabbing in Crawley.

Officers were called to Lansbury Road just after 9pm on Friday (11 November) following reports of an assault.

A 19-year-old man was found with potentially life-threatening injuries and was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody at this time.

The assault is being treated as an isolated incident and it's believed both parties were known to each other.

The public's being waned to expect a heightened police presence in the area as enquiries continue.
