A lorry filled with supplies for Ukrainian refugees is making its way from Seaford College in Petworth to Poland today.

Everything from clothes and food, to toys and colouring books have been donated to people fleeing the war in Ukraine, and have all been sorted at the central collection hub at the college.

Charity coordinator at Seaford College, Colleen Hayes said: "It's just this feeling of community, pulling together to do something good. The two local schools Graffam and Duncton’s PTA have been here for the entire week and a neighbour dog walker thought she’d pop in.

"Students packing the boxes are really trying hard to think, actually if I was to receive that box, what would I like to be in there and then choosing cuddly toys and choosing clothing and jumpers. Huge amounts of care are going into these boxes that they're making up.

"Anything that doesn’t go on a shipment is going to be sorted out. It’ll go to charity shops, other local hubs, and we'll donate food to Stonepillow. Any other food can go to our food bank appeal, which is happening next week."
