Voters will also choose a new Police and Crime Commissioner for Sussex, with five candidates are standing.

You can find out who they are by visiting choosemypcc.org.uk.

Voters in Adur, Crawley and Worthing will also elect some, but not all, of their district or borough councillors on May 6th.

West Sussex County Council has stressed that polling stations will be safe to visit on May 6th, but are urging people to plan ahead if they want to vote:

• Check your poll card because your polling station may have changed since the last election.

• Polling stations are usually busier early in the morning and after school, so you may want to go at a different time when it’s likely to be quieter.

Votes will start to be counted on Friday 7th May, with results set to be announced through Friday afternoon and into the weekend.

You can find more information on the elections taking place on May 6th on the West Sussex County Council website.
