Police appeal for identity following Crawley Tesco theft

Officers are looking to speak to a man after a theft that left a person in hospital with a head injury

Police have released a CCTV image of a person they would like to speak to after a person was hospitalised during a theft at a Crawley supermarket.

A member of the public suffered a head injury during the incident at the Tesco store in Hazlewick Avenue at around 1.30pm on Tuesday 8th June.

Officers investigating the matter are appealing for a man (pictured) who they believe could help with their enquiries.

Anyone who recognises him, or who has any other information relating to what happened, is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting serial 850 of 08/06.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, theft from a shop and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
