Ice warning issued for weekend in West Sussex

It comes as temperatures reach sub-zero levels in the county

A new ice warning has been issued for Saturday in West Sussex.

The Met Office says icy stretches may lead to some difficult driving conditions tomorrow morning (January 9th).

The alert comes into force at midnight and lasts through until 11am,

Cold temperatures are being forecast across the county over the weekend and into next week.

What to expect

Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces

Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths

"Outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow will clear southwards during the early hours of Saturday, but some showers will affect coastal districts.

"Where skies clear, icy stretches are likely to form on untreated surfaces."
