Horsham’s markets to continue trading during second national lockdown
New restrictions come into force from Thursday
Both of Horsham’s markets are happy to confirm that they will continue to trade with essential products during the second national coronavirus lockdown.
The market, based in Horsham’s Carfax, will remain open every Saturday offering a fantastic range of essential produce stalls and street food to take away.
Stalls will be spaced out to enable social distancing, all traders will wear face coverings in the presence of customers and hand sanitiser is readily available.
Click and collect and home delivery services are also being re-introduced.
Book online before 9am each Friday at www.horshammarkets.co.uk for collection from the market or delivery to homes within a five mile radius of Horsham Town Centre.
The Bishopric General Market will also continue to offer fresh fruit and vegetables and essential produce on Saturdays through November.
On Thursdays fresh bakery products and a small selection of other essential products will be on offer in Carfax.
The street food traders will be back on Thursdays in December when the lockdown is set to lift.
Horsham District Council's cabinet member for the local economy, Councillor Paul Clarke said:
"I am really pleased that by observing social distancing health and safety measures and switching their distribution methods, our market traders are being able to continue selling their goods at this difficult time."
Meanwhile Simon Teesdale of Food Rocks, which operates the Carfax’s Horsham Markets on behalf of the council, added:
"We are delighted that we can continue trading in the town and also employ our home delivery and click and collect services which have enabled our traders to continue to supply wonderful quality local produce to the community during these difficult times."
