Three men have been arrested following a serious assault on a teenage boy in Haywards Heath.

The suspects, aged 19, 21, and 23, all from the Mid Sussex area, were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Police say the arrests followed swift enquiries, searches, and the collection of forensic evidence at the scene.

The incident involved a 16-year-old boy who was struck by a blue car and then assaulted with weapons on Monday (28 July).

He remains in hospital, where his condition is reported as stable.

Police confirmed that all individuals involved are known to each other.

The investigation is ongoing, and officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
