Heavy rain warning issued for West Sussex

Downpours could be on the way throughout Tuesday (November 15th)

A weather warning for heavy rain has been issued for much of West Sussex on Tuesday (November 15th).

The Met Office says up to 30mm could fall in places, potentially bringing flooding with it.

Its yellow warning will be in effect between midnight and 1pm on Tuesday and covers the majority of the county, including areas around Worthing and Steyning.

The warning will be in effect through much of the South on Tuesday, including most of West Sussex

What can we expect?

  • Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer
  • Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer
  • Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible

A Met Office spokesperson said:

"A band of rain will move east across southern parts of England and Wales during Tuesday morning.

"Some of the rain will be heavy, with 15-30 mm of rain falling widely and as much as 40-50 mm over parts of Dartmoor and south facing high ground of southern Wales and the Marches and parts of southern England."
