Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision in Hambrook near Chichester.

Sussex Police were alerted to an incident taking place on Broad Road shortly after 6pm on Friday evening (January 3rd).

When officers arrived at the scene, on the junction with Hawthorne Gardens, they had found that a light-coloured 4x4 had collided with a pedestrian.

It is believed that the 4x4 had been towing a trailer at the time of the incident, and did not stop at the scene following the crash.

The victim, a 30-year-old man was taken to hospital for his injuries, which have been described as "serious, but not life-threatening".

Now, Sussex Police are appealing for those involved in the collision to come forward, as well as potential witnesses or those with relevant information.

Anyone who may have CCTV footage of the area at the time of the incident, or who might have seen a similar-looking car in the vicinity of the crash site to get in touch as soon as possible.

Those who may have any information relevant to the ongoing case, whilst enquiries are underway can reach out by calling 101 and quoting Operation Sutherland on the phone with officers.
