Half a million vaccinated against coronavirus in Sussex
Work's now underway to get the jab to all over-60s
Sussex's coronavirus vaccination programme has reached yet another milestone, with more than half a million people in the country now receiving their first jab.
The Sussex Health and Care Partnership, which is overseeing the rollout, said that the figure had been achieved on Monday (February 22nd).
Work is now underway to make sure all those aged over 65 are being offered the jab, alongside those aged 16 and older who are clinically vulnerable.
To date, the jabs have been offered at 33 GP-led local vaccination services, three pharmacy-led services, four vaccination centres, one bus and a roving service for those who are housebound.
The latest mass vaccination centre to open its doors was at the Westgate Leisure Centre in Chichester last week.
As of Sunday, 201.161 people in West Sussex had been given their first dose of the jab, including 56,520 over 80s (94.5% of the total population) and 36,853 people aged between 75 and 79 (94.2%)
