Teenage girl appears in court charged with murder of man in West Sussex
A 24 year-old was found with stab wounds in October
A 14 year-old girl has appeared in court by videolink charged with murder after a man was stabbed to death in Crawley.
The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared for the hearing at Hove Crown Court in connection with the death of Nimroy Hendricks.
The 24 year-old was found with stab wounds to the chest in Russell Way in the West Sussex town on 27 October.
Despite being treated by paramedics and an air ambulance doctor, he died at the scene.
The defendant spoke only to confirm her name during the short hearing which was adjourned for a further hearing on 22 January.
A preliminary trial date was set for 7 June .
Judge Christine Laing QC told the teenager:
"There is going to be another hearing and it can be in the same way by videolink.
"You will remain in the care of the facility that you are at.''
