Four men have been sentenced for their roles in a St Leonards shooting where a vehicle was fired at.

Jackson-Lee Scriven, 23, Cornel Florea, 21, Hayden Inglis, 29, and Robert Murphy, 34, surrounded the vehicle of a man unknown to them outside a gym in Theaklen Drive on January 24.

Witnesses saw shots being fired and one of the men holding a knife

After tracing the group back to an address shortly after, officers searched the property where they found an imitation firearm and a knife.

Scriven, of Windmill Road, Gillingham; Florea, of Cambria Crescent, Gravesend; and Inglis, of Wood Mews, Tunbridge Wells, have been jailed for a combined total of more than eight and a half years.

Murphy, of Bristol Road, St Leonards, received a suspended sentence.

Superintendent Adam Hays said: “This was a concerning incident, where two innocent members of the public were threatened as they left a gym.

“We launched a rapid response to ensure people were safe in the area and to catch those involved.

“The four men involved caused distress and concern, so we are pleased with the outcome of the case.

“It shows we will not tolerate violent and threatening behaviour in our communities. We are pleased that these dangerous individuals have been taken off the streets and are now serving jail sentences.”
