Former government office block set to be demolished
151 homes and a supermarket are planned for the site on the outskirts of Hastings
A former government building in Hastings is set to be demolished to make way for 151 new homes and a supermarket.
The Department for Work and Pensions used to be based in Ashdown House off Sedlescombe Road North.
The proposals include 17 affordable homes and a community centre.
Planners will make a decision on the development on Wednesday.
Hastings Borough Council has only received 18 public comments on the proposals, 14 of them were objections.
Objectors raised concerns about the impact of the development on local infrastructure, in particular traffic on Sedlescombe Road North and Harrow Lane.
The application is recommended for approval.
