First flights in a decade linking Gatwick directly to 'Pearl of Africa' fly today

Uganda Airlines is operating direct flights to Entebbe four times a week, with the first taking off this evening

A new route from Gatwick's connecting Sussex to the so-called 'Pearl of Africa' - for the first time in a decade.

Flights to Uganda are being launched today - with Uganda Airlines operating the direct flights to Entebbe operating four times a week.

The first flight is scheduled for 7pm tonight, with an Airbus A330-800 neo making its debut.

Gatwick a "key gateway" to Africa

Jonathan Pollard, Chief Commercial Officer, London Gatwick said:
