Fire crews across East Sussex attend house fire in Brighton
An investigation has begun into the cause of the fire
A fire that broke out at a property in Brighton this morning (Monday 2nd October) saw six fire engines from across the county in attendance at the height of the emergency.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a fire at a domestic property in Ivor Road, Brighton, at 9.28am.
There were firefighters and six fire engines from Preston Circus, Seaford, Roedean, Barcombe, Hove, Newhaven in attendance as well as the Incident Control Unit and Aerial Ladder Platform.
People are being asked to avoid the area and, if you are local, to keep windows and doors closed.
Update 10.50am: The incident is being scaled back. Further updates to follow.
Update 11.30am: The incident has been scaled down to 2 fire engines in attendance. The cause is currently unknown and a fire investigation will take place.
There are no casualties reported.
