Family pays tribute to West Sussex man killed in motorway crash

The collision happened near Southampton last Tuesday (November 17th)

The family of a West Sussex man who died in a collision on the M271 last week have paid tribute to him.

Police were called to a collision on the motorway near Southampton at just after 8.30am last Tuesday (November 17th).

It involved four vehicles - a heavy goods vehicle, a Nissan Navara pickup truck, a Mercedes Vito van and a Citroen Relay van.

The driver of the Citroen, 64-year-old David Sullivan of Eastern Road in Wivelsfield Green, was pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement released by Hampshire Constabulary, David's family said:

"Dave, beloved husband to Wendy, Father to Kathryn and Tom, Stepfather to Laura, Adam and Craig, Grandfather to Ross, Sophie, Jack, Ivy, Isaac and Lucy.

"He will be very sorely and sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him."

Police are continuing to make enquiries into the exact circumstances of the collision.
