Two Dorset men arrested after cocaine haul found on West Sussex beach

Two men from Dorset have been arrested in connection with a half-tonne hail of cocaine found on a beach in West Sussex.

The National Crime Agency's been investigating after £40 million worth of drugs were discovered in a RIB at Medmerry Beach near Selsey in August.

Officers say a 45 year old from Bournemouth and a 41 year old from Poole were arrested yesterday (Tuesday 8th October).

Four further arrests have also been made this week:

  • A 39 year old at Luton Airport today (Wednesday 9th October)
  • A 39 year old in Liverpool on Monday (7th October)
  • A 38 year old in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire yesterday
  • A 36 year old in Tilbury, Essex yesterday

The latest developments take the total arrested in connection to the cocaine importation to 12.

All have been released on bail.
