Cyclist killed in collision with lorry in Uckfield

Part of the Maresfield bypass has been closed for much of Thursday

A cyclist has died after he hit a stationary lorry on a road in Uckfield on Thursday morning (July 1st).

The 70-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision on the A22 Maresfield bypass at 9.34am.

The lorry had broken down on the road at the time of the collision.

Its driver was uninjured.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision involving a cyclist and a lorry on the A22 Maresfield Bypass, Uckfield.

Sergeant Dan Eaton of Sussex Police said:

"We are appealing for witnesses to the incident and would like to hear from anyone who have dashcam footage of it who can help our investigation."
