Cyclist hospitalised after collision with car in Worthing

Police have arrested the driver involved

A woman cyclist has been taken to hospital following a collision with a car on the A24 in Worthing.

Officers received reports of a collision involving a silver Kia and a cyclist near the junction with Cissbury Road in Broadwater around 11.15am on Wednesday (July 7th).

The cyclist - a 41-year-old woman from Worthing - required treatment for minor injuries.

The driver - a 27-year-old woman woman from Lancing – was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, common assault and possession of cannabis.

She has been released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
