Crawley station stabbing victim named - as man appears in court

Police have named the teenager found dead in a car park at Crawley train station - as a man appears in court charged with her murder.

19-year-old Stephanie Marie was found with stab injuries follow an altercation in Station Way at around 7.10am on Sunday (18th August).

Her family have paid tribute to a 'much-loved daughter, sister and mother.much-loved daughter, sister and mother'.

In a statement, released through British Transport Police, they said:

“Stephanie was a much-loved daughter, sister and mother. We are devastated that her young life has been ended in this way. She had her whole life ahead of her.

At school she excelled at sport and loved basketball, football and gymnastics. We will miss her so much. Life will never be the same.”

Man appears in court

Jason Pascal Flore has been before Crawley Magistrates this morning (Tuesday 20th August), charged with Stephanie's murder.

The 26-year-old, of no fixed address, has been remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court next Wednesday (28th August).

Senior Investigating Officer, T/Detective Superintendent Sam Blackburn said:

“Our specialist officers are supporting Stephanie’s family and friends. Please can we ask for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time.

“We continue to urge anyone with any information which could aid our investigation to get in touch with us.”
