Crawley man in court over drugs and weapon offences

The 20 year-old appeared before Magistrates

A man's been arrested, charged and sent to court accused of drug offences, after a search warrant was carried out an address in Crawley by police officers.

The operation was part of a joint investigation by Sussex officers with the Met police. During the search on Thursday (18 August), cannabis and numerous weapons were seized.

Kein Fernandes, 20, of Foxglove Walk, Crawley, was charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin between the 6 March and 18 August 2022, possession of cannabis and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place. He appeared at Crawley Magistrates Court on 19 August, where he was released on conditional bail, to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 16 September.

Detective Inspector Alan Pack of the West Sussex Community Investigation Team said: “We are committed to disrupting the production, supply and distribution of harmful drugs in our community. This investigation is another example of joint working with the Met in order to tackle county drugs lines and keep our communities safe.
