Crawley man dies on A272 near Cowfold

Sussex Police has launched a witness appeal

A man from Crawley has died on the A272 near Cowfold.

Officers and ambulance crew were called to the A272 East of Cowfold at 5pm yesterday (6 December) to reports of a man in the road.

The 55 year-old man was pronounced dead.

Sussex Police have said it is thought the man may have been hit by a vehicle which did not stop at the scene.

Officers are working to establish the cause of death and the full circumstances of the incident.

Police are now urging anyone who witnessed what happened or who may have any relevant dash-cam footage to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to report it online or call 101, quoting Operation Origin.
