Two students at Chichester College are self-isolating after testing positive for coronavirus.

The college confirmed the news on Wednesday, saying that those who have been in close contact with both are also quarantined.

Additional cleaning has taken place at the college since the positive tests took place, which remains open as of Thursday morning.

A college spokesperson said:

"Our priority is ensuring that our colleges are safe places to learn, and our staff and students' health and wellbeing is of utmost importance.

"We have a rigorous process in place to minimise the risk of the spread of Covid-19. This includes one-way systems around buildings, multiple sanitiser stations, regular cleaning of touch points throughout the day, the wearing of masks in communal areas, staggered start, finish and break times for classes and social distancing."

Anyone who is showing symptoms is being asked to avoid coming to college, and instead should seek medical advice and follow Government guidance.
