Children among migrants found by police just outside Chichester

The group were passed into the hands of immigration officials

Six migrants, including two children, have been found by police officers just outside Chichester.

Officers encountered the group after being called to Vinnetrow Road in Runcton on Saturday afternoon (November 21st).

Immigration Enforcement was contacted at around 12.20pm that day.

A spokesperson for the Home Office said:

"Police officers encountered six males who presented themselves as Iranian, Iraqi and Syrian nationals.

"They will be interviewed by immigration officers and their cases will be dealt with according to the immigration rules.

"Two minors were also encountered. They will be passed into the care of social services."
