Sussex Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to as they investigate a robbery at a supermarket in Shoreham.

Officers were called out to the Co-op in Ham Road shortly after 7am on Saturday (10 May).

The suspect threatened staff with a hammer, and got away with cash.

The suspect is described as white, approximately 5’11” and of large, stocky build with copper-coloured hair. He was wearing a black hoodie, black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

Police say they are linking this robbery to an incident at Shoreham News in nearby Buckingham Road moments earlier, where a man is reported to have threatened staff and tried to steal cigarettes.

No injuries were reported from either incident.
