CCTV appeal after woman raped on Worthing beach

Police want to speak to a man seen in a nearby bar shortly before the attack

Police have released photos of a man they want to interview about the rape of a woman on Worthing beach.

The woman in her twenties is being supported by specially trained officers following the incident near the Splash Point childrens' play area.

It happened at some time between 3am and 4am on Sunday morning (July 25th).

The man police are seeking is described as white, about 19, 5’7-5’8”, and of medium build with brown hair, a well groomed beard, and possibly a gold tooth.

He was wearing a black jacket with a white emblem on the back, blue ripped jeans and white trainers.

He had been seen in the nearby Bar10 club shortly before the offence.

Detective Constable Charlotte Dawson of the West Sussex Safeguarding Investigations Unit said;

"This is an isolated incident for the area.

"If you know this man, of if you were in that area of Worthing beach early on Sunday morning and saw anything that could help our investigation, please contact us either online or by calling 101, quoting Operation Tile."
