Over 12,000 runners are taking to the streets of Brighton this morning for the city's annual marathon.

It's the first time the event has been held in April since 2019 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The route will see runners pass iconic Brighton landmarks such as the i360 tower, the pier and Brighton Marina.

Dan Lee is running today to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, after his father-in-law was diagnosed with the condition.

He said: "Seeing the gradual decline in his health over that period of time, I wanted to do something to raise awareness and money for MND.

"At present there is no cure and it does reduce life expectancy. Any sort of awareness or help and sponsorship will help those affected."
