Man arrested in Brighton after sexual assault

A man has been arrested and charged with attempted rape and sexual assault after an incident in Brighton on Saturday (7th June).

James Scott, who's 45-years-old, is being held in custody after being arrested at the scene.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said "Officers were called to Manchester Street at around 11am after witnesses reported concern for the welfare of a woman.

"The victim, a woman in her 20s, is being supported by specially trained officers."

Scott will appear before Lewes Crown Crown on 7th July.
