The Brighton Half Marathon returns today
It was moved to October for last year's event due to the coronavirus pandemic
The Brighton Half Marathon returns to its usual spot today.
Last year's event took place in October due to the coronavirus pandemic, but today over 10,000 runners will return to normality for the 32nd edition of the race.
It's organised by the Sussex Beacon charity, which provides specialist care for people living with HIV and is their biggest fundraiser.
As well as the wheelchair race featuring four members of Team GB, Dame Kelly Holmes is also taking part today.
She said: “I am really looking forward to starting the Brighton Half Marathon this year. Seeing mass participation events back to their best is fantastic! It has motivated me to get back training and run it too. So my plan is to start the race off, jump down and get involved. I will not be racing - just enjoying the atmosphere."
The wheelchair race gets underway at 8.57am, and the main race begins just a few minutes later at 9am.
A number of roads across the city will be closed for the duration of the races, including Madeira Drive, Marine Parade and Kings Road.
