Brighton & Hove's plan for "better future" to go before councillors
If approved it will help shape council policy and services for the next four years
A plan for a “better Brighton & Hove for all” will go before councillors for approval next week.
The city council’s new vision outlines its core priorities for the next four years.
Labour council leader, Bella Sanky, said: “We all deserve to live in a city that we can be proud of – where everyone is included and has the opportunity to grow and thrive.
“We know that there’s inequality and injustice throughout Brighton & Hove and hardship felt by many of our residents.
"There’s a great desire to see essential every-day council services restored and revitalised.
“I am determined that this council will deliver the services the city deserves and help alleviate hardship.
"We are close to our residents, visitors and businesses and will actively listen and respond to their needs.”
The plan of action includes growing a fair and inclusive city, with homes for all, working to reduce inequality, challenging discrimination, improving accessibility and keeping people safe.
Cllr Sanky also wants to see more investment in reliable waste and refuse services, developing a cost-of-living action plan and, among other things, reaching carbon net zero by investing in the city’s electric vehicle charging network.
If approved the plan will shape council policy and services for years to come.
