Body found on Brighton coast after major search operation
Sussex Police had been responding to reports of a man getting into difficulty in the water
A body's been found following a major search operation off the coast of Brighton.
It follows reports a man got into difficulty in the water east of Brighton Palace Pier just after 7:15am on Sunday (24 September) morning.
The body of a 38-year-old man was later recovered on the shoreline opposite the Odeon Cinema that evening.
Sussex Police say his next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
There are no suspicious circumstances and his death's been referred to the coroner.
