Missing Sussex man's family 'devastated' after body found

Tom was last seen heading for Shoreham on Thursday

The family of a man who went missing from Sussex have said they are 'absolutely devastated' after a body believed to be his was found in a flat in Brighton.

27-year-old Tom Jennings from Portslade had not been seen since last Thursday (March 4th), when he got off a bus in the area while on his way to the B&Q store in Shoreham.

Sussex Police said officers had responded to reports of a body being found outside a basement flat in Norfolk Square at just before 12.50pm on Tuesday (March 9th).

Chief Inspector Nick Dias said:

“Sadly a body has been found believed to be that of missing Tom Jennings who was also known as Tom Wright.

"Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.”

The family of Tom said:

“We are absolutely devastated by the outcome. We would like to thank everyone who has helped us search for our loving son.”

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
