Arrest after man spotted with suspected handgun in Horsham
Armed officers and a police helicopter were sent out

Armed police have been called to Horsham town centre after a man was spotted with a suspected gun.
Officers were called out after the man was spotted in the alleyway between the Sainsbury's store and Causeway at 4.40pm on Monday (April 19th).
A police helicopter was also sent out during searches for the suspect.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said:
“Officers carried out an extensive area search and the suspect was safely detained. He has been taken into custody for questioning.
“This incident is being treated as isolated and there is not thought to be any threat to the local community.”
