An army medic loaded with 20 kilos of body armour will march through Brighton and Hove on Saturday visiting the city's war memorials.

Lieutenant Colonel Ben Caesar will set off from the Chattri memorial near Patcham and finish at Old Steine Gardens to mark Armed Forces Day.

Lt Col Caesar said: "At this time of global unrest, where our regular reservist service personnel, may at short notice be called into action, it is important we demonstrate support for them and their families.

"I’m encouraging all service personnel across Sussex, including our hospitals, to come and join me for all or part of the route, with or without weight, particularly the final stretch along the seafront."
