Meet the former stray dog looking for a Valentine's match in West Sussex
Kelly's been cared for at a Shoreham rehoming centre for over 500 days
A German Shepherd who's spent just under half her life in the care of a rehoming team in West Sussex is looking to find love with a forever family this Valentine's Day.
Four-year-old former stray Kelly is currently being cared for at Dogs Trust Shoreham Rehoming Centre, in Shoreham,
As of Valentine's Day, she will have been at the centre for a total of 574 days, over two separate stints.
Dogs Trust have said Kelly enjoys using her brain and is hoping to find experienced owners who can continue her training with shared enthusiasm.
Dogs Trust Shoreham Rehoming Centre Manager, Adel Burnett said:
“Kelly loves to learn new things – she ‘nose’ what she’s looking for, and that’s a great new home.
“Kelly has been rehomed once but came back to us after nearly 18 months through no fault of her own, after a change in her owner’s circumstances.
“We hope the next Valentine's Day will be spent with the new loves of her life.”
Kelly needs a home where any young people are over the age of 16.
She is uncomfortable around other dogs so will need be the only pet in the home and ideally walked in areas which are quieter so she can avoid bumping into them.
Adel added:
“It may take several visits to the rehoming centre to spend time with Kelly and get to know her, but we’re certain it’ll be worth it for the right family.”
Dogs Trust rehoming centres are currently closed to members of the public but people can still apply and experts will be able to start the adoption process.
Those who would like to find out more about Kelly can get more information on the Dogs Trust website or call the team on 01273 452576.
