Brighton & Hove Albion to Introduce Safe Standing at Amex Stadium
The Amex Stadium will install safe standing in part of the North Stand
Brighton & Hove Albion have confirmed they will install safe standing in part of the North Stand at the Amex Stadium ahead of the 2025/26 season, following strong backing from season-ticket holders.
After a detailed consultation process, more than 80% of fans seated at the back of the North Stand supported the move.
The new safe standing area will be introduced from row R backwards, covering seats 13–241 in blocks N1A to N1H.
Safe standing will not be installed in seats 1–12 of block N1A, seats from 243 upwards in block N1H, or in block N1I.
Supporters in the new safe standing section who wish to relocate will be given a priority seat move window next March, following season-ticket renewals.
The exact date will be confirmed in late January.
Fans will also be invited to view a small section of rail seating at the Amex before installation begins, with details to be released soon.
The club has stressed that safe standing will not involve the removal of seats.
Instead, a rail will be fitted in front of each seat, and supporters must remain in their allocated place. The stadium’s capacity will remain unchanged and ticket prices will not be reduced.
Albion’s head of ticketing and supporter services Jenny Gower said: “I’d like to thank the season-ticket holders for their feedback. We had a fantastic response to our survey and a very strong majority in favour of installing safe standing towards the back of the North Stand.
“We will help any season-ticket holders who want to move and the impact of safe standing will be regularly reviewed, but we are confident it will make the atmosphere in the North Stand even better and help Fabian Hurzeler and the team.”
