Actor coming to Chichester this Christmas to judge festive window displays
'The Spirit of Christmas' is this year's theme
A former Eastenders and All Creatures Great and Small actor will be coming to Chichester this Christmas.
Christopher Timothy will be judging this year's Chichester BID's Christmas window display competition, which is open to all businesses in the city centre.
He will be looking at a range of criteria, including how the products are displayed, use of props and graphics and the overall appearance of the shopfront.
Jeanette Hockley, operations manager at Chichester BID, said:
"We are really pleased to have Christopher as this year's special guest judge and can't wait to see all the brilliant Christmas displays in our shops.
"Every year retailers and businesses put a great amount of effort into creating these amazing festive windows to delight shoppers coming to the city centre.
"This year the theme is 'The Spirit of Christmas' which can be represented in many ways.
"We want to know what Christmas means to our businesses, their teams and for this beautiful city."
All entries will be awarded a silver, silver gilt or gold certificate for their displays.
Christopher will decide on the three top award places: one winner in the multiple category, one winner in the independent category and an overall winner.
Christopher said:
"Local businesses and subsequently our sense of community is more important now than it has ever been and I am very proud to have been asked to judge the window displays in Chichester this Christmas."
Chichester BID is also encouraging the public to have their say in the People's Choice Award.
Simply take a photo of your favourite festive shop window and post it on social media using the hashtag #ChiBidXmas before 21 December or vote online via the LoyalFree App.
The business with the most public votes will be declared the winner.
