Major Sussex country road to shut for several hours after collision

Sussex Police are warning a main country road near Heathfield is likely to stay shut for several hours following a collision that left four people seriously injured.

Emergency services, including ambulance and fire crews, were called to the A267 at Cross in Hand at 7:05am on Tuesday.

A black Ford Focus car and a sewage tanker were involved.

The four occupants of the car were seriously injured, whilst the driver of the tanker were uninjured.

Police say the road will remain shut whilst recovery work and forensic examination takes place.

Drivers are being urged to use alternative routes whilst the closure remains in place.
