79-year-old woman rescued from flat fire in West Sussex
Crews were called to Southwater on Thursday night (March 10th)
Fire crews have rescued a 79-year-old woman following a fire at a block of flats in West Sussex last night (Thursday 9th March).
Three crews were called to the blaze, which broke out in Kensett Avenue in Southwater, at around 7pm.
Two teams from Horsham and a third from Crawley attended.
People nearby were urged to keep their doors and windows closed.
In a statement, West Sussex Fire and Rescue said the woman received treatment for smoke inhalation after being rescued from a ground-floor flat.
They added that crews left the scene at 9.38 after bringing the fire under control.
