£21,000 worth of watches stolen in Eastbourne

The victim had taken the watches out of a safety deposit box earlier that day

Police are appealing for witnesses after £21,000 worth of watches were stolen during a robbery in Eastbourne.

A 67-year-old man reported being approached by two men at around 4pm on Friday, November 12, in Gildredge Park and being assaulted by one of them.

During the attack he dropped a bag containing 12 collectible watches withdrawn from a safety deposit box that afternoon, which the pair made off with.

Both men are described as being white, in their 20s and around 5’8” tall. The assailant was described as having bright blonde hair.

Witnesses are asked to call 101.
