The young man killed in Ewell last week has now been named by Surrey Police.

Police were called to outside The Wheatsheaf pub on Kingston Road around 3.30pm on Tuesday 9 December following reports that a man with injuries, consistent with a stabbing, had been found in an alleyway next to the pub.

Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. He has now been formally identified as 23-year-old Alfonso (Alfie) Sibley.

Surrey Police say their thoughts remain with his family, who have requested privacy to come to terms with their loss.

The death has also been referred to the Surrey Coroner.

A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with murder. He was remanded and appeared at Guildford Magistrates Court on Monday 15 December. He is next due to appear at Guildford Crown Court on Monday 22 December.

A second 15-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy, and a 20-year-old man were also arrested on suspicion of murder and have since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to this incident. If you have any information that might assist their investigation, you are asked to get in touch with them, quoting PR/45250148304.
