You can get a coronavirus test over Christmas in Surrey and Hampshire
It is business as usual for NHS Test and Trace over the festive period- including on Christmas day itself.
If you develop symptoms testing sites in Surrey and East Hampshire will be open.
Opening hours will be slightly different though and you still need to book an appointment online.
You can only get a free NHS test if at least one of the following applies:
You have a high temperature
You have a new, continuous cough
You’ve lost your sense of smell or taste or it’s changed
You’ve been asked to get a test by a local council
You’re taking part in a government pilot project
You’ve been asked to get a test to confirm a positive result
The Government says NHS Test and Trace contact tracers will also continue to work throughout the festive period with amended opening hours, to ensure there are no delays in contacting close contacts of positive cases.
Hampshire County Council’s Director of Public Health, Simon Bryant, said:
“We must all remain vigilant over the festive period.
"Prompt self-isolation, testing and tracing of close contacts are crucial for breaking chains of infection and protecting our loved ones and communities.
"I urge residents to continue following the current Tier restrictions and consider very carefully the risks of socialising, particularly with the elderly or clinically vulnerable.”
