The alert has been issued by the Met Office and will remain in place for the rest of today (14 January) through to 10am tomorrow morning (15 January).
They say temperatures will dip overnight leading to a risk that wet surfaces could turn to ice.
In our area we can expect temperatures to drop as low as -1°C overnight.

This Evening and Tonight: Any rain should clear this evening. Cloud will begin to thin leading to clear skies and a widespread rural frost. Cold with light winds. Minimum temperature -1 °C.
Friday: Another cold day ahead with a rural frost and areas of fog clearing slowly. Some sunny spells are likely before cloud increases later. Maximum temperature 4 °C.
Outlook for Saturday and Sunday: Windy with rain on Saturday. Mainly dry, bright, but cold on Sunday.
