Workman airlifted to hospital after being electrocuted in Guildford

A man has been airlifted to hospital after reportedly being electrocuted in Guildford.

Emergency services were called to Stoke Road near Guildford College yesterday afternoon (2 June).

A spokesperson for the South East Coast Ambulance Service told Greatest Hits Radio yesterday:

"We attended the Stoke Road, Guildford, today following reports a workman had been electrocuted at approximately 1.45pm today.

"We were joined at the scene by the air ambulance service.

"The person was assessed and treated at the scene before being airlifted to hospital in London."

Surrey Police say the man was working in the area at the time of the incident and has been left with serious injuries.

Stoke Road was closed in both directions during the afternoon.
