Police are appealing for information after three people were attacked by a group of men who were attempting to steal a catalytic converter from a car in Thames Ditton.

It happened on Thistledene in Esher shortly before 7pm on Saturday.

One of the victims was taken to hospital with serious injuries to her arm and has since been discharged,

The suspects also stole a dog, which later turned up unharmed at Hampton Court train station.

Officers were also called to a suspected catalytic converter theft on Cumberland Drive at around 6:30pm the same evening.

Detective Sergeant Victoria Algate, of Surrey Police, said:

“We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything in the area last night to contact us with any information.

"We believe that these two reports are connected and that the suspects were travelling in a silver saloon shaped vehicle, which may have been driving erratically in the area around that time.”
